Xishuangbanna Airport, located in southwest of Jinghong City and opened to flight in 1990, belongs to state class one port airport. It is named “civilization airport” in southwest China. With a land area of 1,620 mu (one mu is about 667 m2), 3C of flight zone grade and 2,200 m of runway, the airport can receive Boeing 737 and below. It has a tarmac area of 20,400 m2, 4 parking berths and an airport building area of 7,859 m2. It flies 18 domestic air lines and 3 international air lines. Its flight cities include Kunming, Lijiang, Dali, Chengdu, Chongqing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Beijing, Guiyang, Urumqi, Wuhan, Changsha, Mangshi, Shangri-La, Bangkok, Chianmai, Vientiane, Louangphrabang, etc. It has successively won the awards of “May Day Prize” and “National Aviation Outstanding Unit” granted–China Federation of Trade Unions.
