Yunnan Airport Campany (YAG) is founded formally on April 26, 2004, whose predecessor is the Chinese Civil Aaviation Yunnan Provincial Administration Bureau. YAG is approved by Yunnan Provincial Government, runs special industry entity with public good. YAG is the main body that invested by the state-owned assets.It has independent enterprise status of a leg. person, and it is the large state-owned enterprise that directly under the Yunnan Provincial Government. YAG implements unified management,and supervision to all Provincial civil airports,also, bears appropiate responsibilities of preservation and increment of the value of state-owned assets.As a conglomerate taking professional management of air transportation support service as the core business , YAG incorporates provincial airports plan , airport construction , tours , logistics ,trade and building etc.as a whole. At the same time,manages investments ,financing and other business home and abroad according to the The laws and regulations of China.

    Yunnan has been built as an important aviation provinces of western part of China with the steps of reforming and opening. At present, besides Kunming Wujiaba International Airport as one regional key airport,YAG controls 9 do gleam airports, namely,BaoShan, SiMao, ZhaoTong, Xishuangbanna, DeHong(Mangshi), LiJiang, DaLi, DiQing(Shangri-la),and LinCang. The WenShan Airport has been put into construction on 28th, April, 2004. Kunming new airport and Teng Chong airpoprt are under the plan and preparation. After the construction of these 3 new airports are finished, the airports quantity , grade and aviation resource of Yunnan would come out on top in western region or even in the whole China. Now the airports of YAG have already opened air links to 92 navigability city successively. While, 25 of them are international cities and 2 internaional areas. 200 air routes have been established, with 17 international citied and areas included. During the time of 1990 to 2003, the provincial airports' passenger capacity grow at 22.8% annually in average, 15.5% higher than the national level. In 2004, the airport passenger capacity reached 1270 persons.Among 96 air routes which passenger capacity beyond 100 millions of China, 11 routes are in Yunnan. For the 21 air routes which passenger capacity beyond 300 millions, Yunnan takes 3 of them. Nowadays, Yunnan has fistly established the aviation network, which takes Kunming as the centre , connecting Yunnan with the neighbour provinces, the main domestic cities network, and also Southeast Asian and South Aisan coutries and regions. A airport group with Kunming regional core airport has been formed. As one of important Chinese international port airport, Kunming international airport has operated aviation transportation service for 54 years. it was awarded as " Aviation Safety Pacesetter Unit", and gained Collective Award of Merit,first class in glory by General Administration of Civil Aviation。

    At the same time of ensuring the aviation safty, YAG also put great efferts on the development of non-aviation businese based on the main job of airport. At present, YAG invests in 4 share hold enterprises,7 share purchasing enterprises, and 12 relatied enterprises.
